The concept for Paladin began in mid-2019, as I looked up into the vast sky in Jakarta, now a thick, grey hue. I wondered to myself why the sky wasn’t blue anymore. What had happened to the beautiful natural color, to the white clouds standing out starkly against the crisp blue sky? I came to the sad realization that it was air pollution that had impacted the natural beauty of Jakarta. As the thick smoke of air pollution closes in around the city, a little more each day, the blue sky and white clouds have become a distant memory. But I knew there had to be a solution.

I began to ask myself some serious questions. What can I do to make the sky blue again? What can I do to help reduce pollution? Where is this pollution coming from? After a little research, I discovered that most of the pollution in Jakarta comes from the harmful fuel emissions of motor vehicles, and the biggest source is motorcycles. There were 14 million motorcycles in Jakarta in 2019, contributing to 43,5% of the air pollution. Then I thought to myself, If all these motorcycles are electric, we can reduce air pollution by 43,5%! It was then that the idea for Paladin was formed. With our mission to reduce pollution through electric vehicles, we hope to create a better future for all of the world’s citizens across the globe.

It won’t happen overnight – impactful change takes years, decades, or even longer. But Paladin is committed to doing our part to offer solutions for climate change, for reducing our carbon footprint, and for bringing our beautiful country back to its natural state. We’ll see the blue sky and crisp white clouds again, and at Paladin, we promise to do everything in our power to make it happen.
